Windows 8 upgrade problem with BB

Have used BB through various versions of windows and this is the first time I have had a problem :(

Clicking on the shortcut for BB creates activity and Task Manager shows that it is running... but I cannot see the application anywhere! Seems to be no way to switch to it.

Tried reinstalling from scratch (which fixed problems I had with a couple of other programs) - but no change. Tried setting compatibility mode to Win 7 and lower - also no improvement.

Maybe it's because I am a Win 8 newbie - but any help would be appreciated.

It runs on Windows 8 so there might be a problem with one of the history or settings files. Try looking at the last line of the log. It should show where it got stuck.

If you're at the Desktop, press the Windows key to get back to Start. Type binboy.exe -log and press enter. You can find the log at Documents\Binary Boy\Logs\log.txt

Ok that was a good pointer. The log showed that BB was stuck getting the "twits" file (and using 15% CPU of an i7). I deleted the twits file and all was back to normal.
Guess it must have got corrupted in the upgrade?!

So am a happy bunny again and appreciate the help.
