Binary Boy v1.94 Released

1. New Features in v1.94
2. Tips for Getting Fast Support

1. New Features in v1.94
------------------------
Download v1.94 from http://www.binaryboy.com/patch.php

Improved Cache - Preserve bandwidth and increase search speed with a smarter, faster header cache. Binary Boy will download only the headers you don't already have on disk even if it has to break refreshes into multiple server requests. v1.93 had to invalidate the cache when it became fragmented. Enable this feature on the Newsgroups tab in the settings.

Import NZB files - Some Usenet services are beginning to export search results in NZB format. Now you can import these results directly into the Binary Boy queue and start downloading. Right-click the queue for the import command.

Threaded Decoder - Decoder operates in a separate thread, keeping the GUI more responsive and making better use of Hyper-Threading processors.

BommaNews Decoding - BommaNews is an encoding method similar in efficiency to yEnc. It originally started out in Europe but is now seen on other
servers around the world.

Faster - Decoder works more efficiently with external rives such as Zip drives.

Fixes - Lots of bug fixes, including an annoying one that caused BBNet to receive the wrong IP address in search results.

2. Tips for Getting Fast Support
--------------------------------
BinaryBoy.com typically responds to support requests within minutes or hours rather than days. If you don't receive a response within 24hrs, it probably means your message was lost or filtered.

BinaryBoy.com now receives thousands of spam emails every day, creating a ratio of 100 spams for every legitimate email. Fortunately SpamAssassin and other tools hide most of it. The downside is that some support email could be lost in the process. To make sure your support requests get through, you should use the BinaryBoy.com messageboard whenever possible at http://www.binaryboy.com/forum

To send personal or private information, send to support at binaryboy dot com or use the private message feature of the messageboard to contact BinaryBoy.

Sounds like you need my mail server :)

I use TMDA (http://tmda.net) in conjunction with ClamAV and SpamAssassin. I have a low SpamAssassin threshold, but the messages that fail get a challenge response, not deleted. All the sender has to do is reply to the challenge, and the message goes through.

It's saved me so much time, it's not even funny.

Ooh, the other nifty little feature - I can create custom e-mail addresses for certain sites, so when they start spamming, I revoke it.

Unfortunatly, that doesn't help when putting an e-mail address on a web site. Of course, for that there is my contact script (http://tinyurl.com/25w4q) - everyone who goes to it gets a different email, which I can deactivate at will.

Thanks for the info.

NP - if you want to set up your own version, I can help ya out.

Anyhow, I sent in a "lost my purchased copy" e-mail - hope your spam filter didn't catch it.

I'll stick with my current setup for now.

Yes, I received your request and replied about 40 minutes ago with a download link.
