New user - stupid questions

Hi, I am brand new. I just bought and iPhone, lucky me, and I love to read. I tried to D/L some books but I can't open them. I don't know what an .imp file is and searching doesn't help. Can anyone help me? Tell me what program to read books on my iphone and how to get them there?

convert your .imp image... You can download any converter from the net...

Convert your .imp file into some other file format such as .jpeg, .png or any other format then try to reopen your file.
