A group list is a list of newsgroups selected from the master list.  Each group list can have its own search and filter strings.  It also maintains information for each newsgroup in the list, including a next pointer and search and filter strings.

It is convenient to create a group list for each kind of file you want to find.  For example, you might create a list named 'sports' containing sports newsgroups, another list for computer generated graphics, and another for sounds.

At least one group list must exist before you can start a search.

Edit or create a group list by clicking on the Group Lists toolbar button or by clicking on the Edit Group List or Create Group List button from the Search dialog.
